Slamfest ’99 – Super Smash Bros. Promotional Event
Slamfest ’99 was a rare 1999 promotional event for Super Smash Bros. (Nintendo 64) that brought the game’s television commercials to life. The event featured life-sized character costumes—the same ones seen in Smash Bros. commercials—battling on a boxing-style stage, emphasizing the game’s chaotic, crossover appeal.
Very little official footage of Slamfest ’99 is known to survive today, and the event is widely regarded as lost media, preserved mainly through a handful of photographs and physical memorabilia.
This archive includes original images from the event and an extremely rare collectible set consisting of a Slamfest ’99 event ticket and a promotional Donkey Kong plush. The plush, originally part of Nintendo’s collectibles line, was rebranded with a Slamfest ’99-specific tag, directly linking it to the Super Smash Bros. promotion and offering rare physical proof of the event’s existence.
